ADA University and Coca Cola launched “Təmiz Ölkəm” recycling project.

As of 2019 ADA University, ADA University Foundation, Coca Cola Company, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and AzEkol LLC have started a huge joint project – “Təmiz Ölkəm”, recycling of plastic waste. This social project addresses littering problem, with emphasis on plastic and will help raise awareness among the young generation, protect our environment and people, water and air pollution, consumption of raw materials and, therefore, keep our country clean and beautiful.

The official public announcement of the project took place on March 15, 2019, at the 7th Bahar Youth Festival, annual event of ADA University, ADA University Foundation and Coca-Cola Company. The project implementation comprises several phases, including different promotional campaigns, awareness raising among different population groups, plastic collection in polluted districts, volunteering and assessment. The scope of awareness will cover educational institutions, public places, resorts, international events.

So far, the specially designed bins have been placed in residential complexes, parks, as well as locations of Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, such as the Athletes Village, Baku Crystal Hall, Baku Boulevard.

On April 25 ADA University Volunteers’ Movement, students and staff members collected inorganic trash, plastic bottles, polystyrene and other waste from the Mardakan. Following the environmental clean-up of the beachfront area, the eco-missioners of the project visited the AzEkol LLC in order to familiarize with on-site plastic recycling process.

On April 30 ADA University hosted the 4th Ecological Forum of young eco-leaders in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Children-Youth Development Center. The Forum was held as a part of “Green hub” annual ecological awareness program and gathered more than 120 school students from Baku and regions.
